Craniosacral therapy for dogs

Cranio may help dogs in the following circumstances:

  • Following surgery or traumatic vet visits
  • Following a dog attack or recent scare
  • If your dog suddenly starts acting strangely or differently and you are feeling confused by their behaviour
  • To facilitate increased healing of injuries eg. mobility issues, repetitive licking at a certain area of their body.
  • After a move or loss in the family.
  • If they keep trying to run away
  • Anxiety or depression – won’t eat
  • As a last resort when you are considering euthanasia

What to expect:

Jenny will tune into your dog’s system listening through her hand and body. Its best to treat your dog in your home where they feel safe and comfortable. They can be on your lap or on the floor/rug. Sessions are usually quiet as the aim is to trigger the parasympathetic system and settle them into a healing state so their body can self correct – dogs tend to get alerted with talking. Compared with humans dogs don’t need lots of different hand holds on different parts of their body – so Jenny tends to keep hand contact on the dog’s back for the entire session. Dogs tend to get more relaxed as the session progresses (as long as they are comfortable in Jenny’s presence).

Treatments are $90 plus home visit fees (see contact me page for more info)
